Welcome to Arizona…

Arizona features the Phoenix valley, know as the Valley of the Sun, where the sun shines over 300 days per year. The warmest month is July with the average temperature rising above 100° F while the coolest month is typically December with the average temperature falling into the low 30°’s.

Phoenix, the capital of Arizona, is the largest city and a center for business, sports, and tourism. It is surrounded by more than 20 valley cities, 3 major mountain ranges, and the beautiful Sonoran Desert. A perfect place to live, many of the Valley residents are transplants, people who have come from somewhere else. It is a melting pot of Native Americans, native Arizonans, and outsides who have relocated and fallen in love with the weather, the opportunities, and the beauty.

The Valley cities in Maricopa County are divided into regions:

  • Northeast Region: North Phoenix, Paradise Valley, North Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Cave Creek, Carefree
  • Southeast Region: Tempe, South Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek
  • Northwest Region: North Phoenix, Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, Sun City
  • Southwest Region: South Phoenix, Laveen, Avondale, Good Year, Buckeye

Mountain Ranges include:

  • North: McDowell Mountains
  • East: Superstition Mountains
